Can we just take a minute to appreciate the irony of an individual who's asking for your vote by blowing up a ballot box?
If only he had any idea what irony was, even the Alanis Morrissette kind.
He already has the vote
His campaign video could have been 85 minutes of him on the toilet and he'd still have been voted in
So he decided to have fun with it
No one runs as a dictator. They get elected and then they don't leave. That is EXACTLY what Trump tried to do.
Watching this in the future. Tucker is now eating his words as he pivots to calling his Orange God King a "loser". Thank you all who came out to vote, even the Republicans who voted away from the MAGA candidates. Remember: it's okay to be conservative, it's not okay to destroy the country because your feelings are hurt.
What do you mean man?
A "take off the damn mask, follow the science" sign on his desk. A literal display of irony.
@poke 24:04
@poke in the video when the Republican is talking, there's a bumper sticker Placard on the desk that says so
Ironically that he’s right? Or… sorry… where did the latest version of science in your mind support the positive impacts of masking? Especially given the hoarding of N95 early in the pandemic…
To quote a professor I once had, "If you are not willing to accept the results of an election unless your guy is the one who wins, you don't actually want a democracy anymore."
Confessions of a vote mule: I called an old lady who couldn't drive any more, and was nearly in tears because her husband had had a stroke not long ago and also could no longer drive... but they really wanted to vote. So i drove out to get their ballots and then dropped them off for her.
Thank you for your service
@Maxwell Vandenberg that;s really nice.
Good job!!
I lived in a white Republican district outside of Philadelphia for many years, and on more than one occasion I had the experience of having to listen to some elderly woman tell me how she knew the Democrats were trying to rig the state and presidential elections. She knew this to be true because there were voting districts in Philadelphia where virtually everyone voted Democratic. That was true, but it was true only because the Republican run state government gerrymandered the minority voters in Philly so intensely that only blacks lived in those districts. So who was trying to rig the elections?
Okay but the line “tucker Carlson is cocomelon for bigots” is amazing and I love it
Nick offerman has way better trigger discipline than the politician did lol
Did you notice that you could hear the hammer click before the explosion and gun had no kick
@david rule I thought from the intensity of the blast it was obvious that he "fired" a detonator, not a bullet
@david rule It looked a lot like a regular AR-15 shot at a tannerite target 10 yd away to me. They don't kick a whole lot, you can see in the shot some smokeless powder smoke from the gun, so other than not seeing the brass eject, which probably hit his shirt as a lot of left handed shooters can attest to, I don't see anything indicating it was faked.
That's because he's Nick F***ing Offerman!
@Collin McLean Give me ALL, of the bacon and eggs you have!
As a Canadian, 🇨🇦I can't understand, nor wrap my head around the fact that some American voters actually wait in line for hours to vote. In Canada voters might wait up to 15 minutes tops. The American voting system needs to significantly expand its voting stations!
Trump was approving of Canada's pencil-and-ballot method!
Got an apartment we could rent after our Supreme Court is done with us? We are flexible but so is democracy here apparently.
The long waits at polling places aren't by accident, they're by design. Republican politicians have worked to make it so that certain districts have very few polling places, namely those with disproportionately high minority populations which typically vote for Democrats. They are trying to disenfranchise voters they don't like, and have had a concerning amount of success.
@HarbingerDawn Exactly Hitler's 1925 tactics.
I love that Nick Offerman just accepts everyone sees him as this “manly man” when he’s actually a big softy. But because he’s such a kind, soft hearted person, he plays into the manly man role to make people happy. Truly one of the coolest people in Hollywood.
You can be soft hearted and kind, while being a manly badass you know. In fact, real men are kind and soft whenever they can.
The supreme irony is that Trump _lost_ the 2016 popular vote, and there was hardly a Republican complaint
The last Republican president that won the popular vote to his first term was Bush41 in 1988. Like Trump45, Bush43 lost his first term popular vote. May 45 never return to the Oval, let us pray in the name of any god out there - that listens and cares about such things - and beyond, whatever the frog That means. "Or not, i'm not your Mom, but i Might be your Dad!" (Cody Johnston, Some More News)
Vote, always. May the force be with you.
Well, ONE Republican complained about it, and that was the then newly-appointed President
@Bazingaburg I went to high school with Cody; it's a small world. I remember him from the musicals. I was in orchestra for violin, but he was actually in the musicals.
@Richie Schneider German tuba, cheers ^^
After the showdy's trilogy on Trumpism i started watching downright religiously. Between China and Russia, the thought of losing America to authoritarianism ruined a good night's sleep regularly and watching some comedy news dude raise the alarms like that helped significantly. I'm rooting for US democracy and wish you all the best!
Edit: To clarify, Trump's danger was apparent to every German that doesn't get to opt for a less depressing, revisionist history. Teach the cautionary tales of history, all of them, or invite sequels. Wherever we're going we'll get there. Make it good.
They blurred the dog out... I'm finished. That's it. My brain is off to pet it.
In the UK on polling days we have Twitter accounts that post nothing but photos of dogs at polling stations. That's what matters and I'm proud of us.
Every time I'm feeling down about the state of the UK I only need to look across the pond and I don't feel so bad.
@Adrian Thoroughgood Following US politics is less upsetting for me because it seems further from home. They're also like cartoons, whereas ours are more boring and (sometimes) grown-ups. It just makes it easier to suppress the horror and laugh, somehow.
@Suitov Their politicians seems to take their job seriously though, even the bonkers ones. Ours are just there for a new item on a CV, or ambition, or to line up a cushy job on a board afterwards or just grift and live the high life. They certainly don’t seem to be remotely competent or serious about politics, judging by the state of the country. It’s not even managed decline anymore, it’s just been a total hollowing-out over a decade and it’s now collapsing and none of them seemed to look at what the medium-term result of their policies would do because they just think in terms of election cycles or “oh we’ll just let the next govt sort that out…”
Well does not make the election here any better though now does it. Your vote still does not count, unless your area (constituency) agrees in majority. That is not any better than US now is it? Proportional representation is the most representative and fairest system when voting into lower and upper chambers both. In UK, we have 91 ppl who have power based on who their ´daddy is´. And that is not counting the royals. The last elections here I think showed plenty and none of it that I could see where I could say I looked at US and was thinking 'it could have been worse'. No actually, Trump was just a more powerful clown than Johnson, but can we say Johnson was any better? Nope.
Really? The blurring of the dog was the last straw for you? They blurred the person, too. It's a protection of privacy..
Photos of dogs at polling stations is what you think matters? Is that even a fetish?
Whew! A huge sigh of relief that Kari Lake lost. Congratulations Governor Hobbs.
What Americans need to remember is that this was a trial run. They needed to know where to act
We know 😞. All it takes is a "Trump" with half a brain and a plan. This was spur of the moment for Trump and it still was pretty bad.
Exactly when people say who cares it's in the past... no it is not this is the play book now.
They stress the system, then get to work destroying the supports that are taking the strain.
2000 mules is the equivalent of someone watching football while applying Golf rules and then getting upset at the "Law breaking"
Cool name 👍
@Chris Jones agree!
Nick Offerman is a goddamn National Treasure
Take it from us over in Europe:- Nick Offerman is a Gott-damn UNESCO world heritage site of significant cultural importance and its forever to our shame that when he was in London in the guise of Ron Swanson that we didn’t make a special diplomatic allowance for him to be able to purchase things with “the most wonderful piece of paper in the world” 😳
No matter the role, Nick Offerman radiates a commanding and prestigious aura that makes me listen to everything he ever says. If he had a TV show where he taught people about the history of wood craftsmanship, it would be the number one rated show on the planet
I'm 31 and I wish he'd take me for my first drink.
It won't be my first, but I think it'll still be magical.
Came here to say this.
He looks weird without a mustache tho
The fact that the guy who is running to be in charge of the voting process, is simply refusing to acknowledge the possibility of the other side winning is insane.
Why would you join something you're not willing to lose?
Yeap, it's automatically disqualifying given that it's dereliction of duty.
Of course not, he is right. Every person he meets on his republican campaigns said they mostly voted reps, way over 90%. So how comes that reps can lose? What a beautiful logic. Btw I mostly meet people with the same last name as me, so there is no chance that most people don't share my last name.
As a Canadian, I have a friend seriously considering moving to FLORIDA of all places just because it's cheap meanwhile I struggle to find a single scenario short of nuclear annihilation to move to America
Moving to the States from Canada would increase your chances of nuclear annihilation. And also maybe a bullet.
Want to trade? I'll trade you my American life for your Canadian one. My trans kid is kind of sweating the future.
hahaha me and my family feels the same, we are in Denmark.
American here with Canadian ancestry... Canada is looking pretty good right now, despite being colder than the US. :) Want to swap houses?
@John Baleshiski It is cold but in 50- 75 years with climates getting warmer Southern Canada will be a sunny destination.
Thank you for putting Nick Offerman in this. A soothing balm at the end of the terror spiel.
Yes that was hilarious, and he didn't even hold the rifle down so low it looked like he was purposefully trying to pose with it like it was an extension for his manhood, like the political hack did
“I don’t want to sound alarmist. I don’t need to sound like Chicken Little. I don’t need to LOOK like him either, but-” was one of the best throwaway gags this season
I'm surprised that he didn't make a 'Shrimp Po' Boy' joke when he was talking about roasting Po. Also, no reference to Po from Kung Fu Panda, either.
I know it’s the young writers doing it mostly, but the shtick of having John reference things he’s too old to even know or care about is always hilarious.
Just curious, I'm 57 and understood the references in this story so what is it that John Oliver doesn't get!
'thing's he's too old to even know?' What are these things that it seems that only younger people are supposed to be able to know?
@Bunyip Dragon I am 72 and understood him too. Not sure what the commenter is getting at.
@Adipose Rex they think anyone over 30 can't possible understand - our oldies would have been treated the same way by us back in the day 🤣
He has kids.
Tucker: "They'll even run mentally defective candidates who can barely speak" Georgia: "Yeah they do! Get em Tucker"
i appreciate this show being made consistently available on youtube
Even John admits HBO Max sucks, also If I'm paying a subscription I want to see all the Seasons of LWT
@Héctor Dueñas Sánchez wait they don't allow you to watch all the episodes? That's bs
It gets made available before they make it available on HBO
If it wasn't on KRclip for free, who would actually watch it???
It was good to see that after the election that nearly all candidates (both parties) acknowledged defeat and conceded like normal
Protip: Being an election judge is like working retail behind a register but somewhere else and at least as important.
John Oliver (2006): “ima fix America “
John Oliver (2022); “this is hard!”
Thankfully their litigations and pyrotechnics budget is getting bigger with every year
@Awkwardmancer and puppets. More puppets!!!
@Darren Domek Puppets? What's this? Fox and friends? Only mascots!
Unfortunately, it is amazingly difficult to educate some areas of the country. Fixing the problems are going to take a lot more than One man.
more like impossible
That Nick Offerman segment was priceless!
And as always, John Oliver is on point.
I can't get over the fact that John Oliver did not pick up the line "Army of the Awakened" by Bannon. That is not an election idea, that's a movie about zombies.
As a European, this reminds me of the post-WW1 era, where some countries (most prominently Germany and Italy) went through a similar process - from questioning the legitimacy of those in power, blaming some minoriy for everything, arming their supporters and intimidating the opposition. This process didn’t happen overnight, but went over many years. I hope the US stops going down this route before it’s too late and the crazy has become the new, acceptable normal.
Too late. Most of us are desensitized to crazy and expect it regularly. So they can be crazier beyond reform by the time most do anything meaningful to stop it. I think we are beyond voting being an effective stop for these clowns.
Yup, horrifying.
John Oliver must do a piece strictly on 2000 mules. It would be so funny 😂
23:30 - The look on his face when she quite corecctly calls out the most obvious reason for him encountering Trump supporters everywhere he goes is PRICELESS.
25 ballots in 3 HOURS??? We do paper votes in Australia and in 3 hours a group of 10 of us could probably count 1500-2000 in that time (that’s with at least 3 recounts/checks) AND Y’ALL AREN’T EVEN DOING A 2-PARTY PREFERRED COUNT AT THE SAME TIME??? How is it taking you that long???
We could in the UK too, but the US system is much more complex. There are lots of offices on the ballot (UK usually one to three, depending on whether local elections are happening, whereas in the States you may have attorneys-general, local officials and judges, not to mention state referendum questions). And the ballot's slate needs to be identifiable as, in many counties, you can change your vote if you change your mind. The US use machines for good reason!
@John Leake that’s a very good point!
@R Horrigan, I'm sure that's why they have the crazy queues. If I were in the States, I'd want to post my ballot or drop it off. How else could you find out about any candidate in a long list (other than voting for a straight party list)?
They apparently can't count past 10 without taking their shoes off.
1. We Americans are incredibly stupid.
2. With only two parties, we are increasingly tribal.
3. Since we’re dumb and tribal, two observers can see the same ballot in completely different ways.
Nick Offerman was the PERFECT choice for that role! What a great episode!
It's sad to see America going through this. I've always dreamed of one day moving to the US because most people I met there were warm, it almost feels like home right away, and I can be free to be who I am there. But 15 years has passed and now my thirld world home country is changing fast while the US...
If you want to come to a place in the west, come to Canada. :)
You can come to chile, the wages are lower, but everything is cheaper (except fuel) and the public transport exist!!
I love that HBO deems this show so important to be seen by America that they release it for free a few hours later on KRclip. Good on you HBO.
Don't humanize a company, please
@Kosta Jovanovic don't project your opinion on others and stop trying to tell people what to do.
@Shraf2k HBO is a private company whose main priority is profit. Kosta is right, don't humanise a company.
@Elijah Sun profit isn't a dirty word. Acknowledge positive behavior.
@Elijah Sun So we're just going to ignore that HBO is one of the few companies consistently doing a good thing?
In Canada, we count votes by hand and get results the same day. And election results are very rarely contested (recounts do happen in some districts if vote differential is very low). No revolution, no protest, no clowns trying to invade government buildings.
True but the US elects so many more offices than us. Why elect sheriffs, judges, or prosecutors? How can they be unbiased? How can voters judge their competence?
We have a non-partisan public service who aren't beholden to any party for their jobs
Which means our election officials are also nonpartisan.
No, we're not perfect, but we have some advantages.
The icing on the cake is Nick Offerman. He’s awesome. And apparently a good shot. Well, done, John Oliver!
For the side that loves to spew, "facts don't care about your feelings", they sure do allow their feelings get in the way of the facts. Just like that guy at 19:28. "oh the people in this county believe the machines were tampered with. So therefore it must be true".
I'm not sure the statement "facts don't care about your feelings", can be attributed to a political party, but that the fact that you do, and attribute it to the Trump party is concerning.
@Caston Young It is because most conservatives use the phrase. In fact Ben Shapiro was the one who coined it and it is still his pinned tweet on his twitter profile.
@Caston Young Jordan sure told you. Lots of people delete their comment after having been embarrassed so bad.
I think if they want to limit mail in ballots, the first step would be declaring election day as a national holiday and require all employers to give everyone (including emergency personnel and gas station attendants, pharmacy, and pretty much everyone in the country) the day off... paid. And of course 10x the ballot centers, offer refreshments to lines
They’d never risk slowing commerce. We couldn’t even close the country to prevent people from dying.
The Aaron Sorkin joke at 8:03 had me in stitches. I legitimately replayed that ten times!
I find it hilarious how the side that claims "facts don't care about your feelings" base their entire reality on their feelings and refuse to change those beliefs even when facts are presented.
Yes. Another word for feelings could be "perceptions" in this context. Just like Kampf said in this video. They are utter hypocrites, through and through. Nothing more.
@Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot Projection is their #1 talent. It's what they're best at.
Sadly, it's nearly a million dead in the US too late for that to be funny anymore.
Thankfully, ALL of those deliberate deniers were handed a *MASSIVE* "L" in the midterms, and the reforms to the Electoral Count Act were passed!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Fun fact: all provincial and federal election ballots are counted by hand in Canada, and every candidate has (or tries to have) representatives at each polling station to oversee the counting and potentially call out illegitimate ballots (though, whether they are counted as legit or not is up to the ElectionsCanada poll workers, it still goes on the record)
I've been one of those candidate reps multiple times and we usually get all the counting done in about an hour, but, then again, there are numerous polling places per riding, and, poll workers are highly paid positions and thus often sought after, there's almost never a shortage of poll workers
He isn't the world's angriest Target employee, he is a Circuit City employee who has been in a coma for a very long time.
I feel like election days should be federal holidays so you wouldn’t have to worry about work, you could simply go to the polling station and maybe open afew more to deal with wait time
I honestly don't know why it isn't a federal holiday. You are right that it should be. That alone would probably increase voter turnout which is why the republicans will never let it be passed.
In Germany elections are on a Sunday for that reason. Mind you, most shops are shut on Sundays as well.
It should AT LEAST be a half day off sort of thing. … work stops at noon and you have 8 hours to do your civic duty. That should cut down on the long line ups.
Saturdays in Australia, with ample pre-poll voting & postal voting options for anyone still working or otherwise unable to attend in person
I was a vice chair as a county commissioner in a county in Georgia. I got death threats after a ordinance that we passed. It was about littering in the river. People were mad saying we were taking away their freedoms. So these threats over a way more serious subject don’t surprise me at all.
How trump was not arrested immediately after that call tape was released is something I will never understand.
As an immigrant from a politically awful country, I had the same thought. Going even further back... As soon as the orange man called President of Ukraine? That should have been the trigger to impeach, remove, and bar him from ever holding public office.
Sure, things might have been worse under president Pence... But we'd still have a democracy for a few more years.
he is rich and powerful, id be suprised if he ever laid foot on a prison
@I don’t wanna be on the news Dawg So the grand jury is just interviewing people for the donuts? Lol
That was a pretty big part of his second impeachment... But almost every Republican in Congress decided, once again, to chose party over country.
@I don’t wanna be on the news Dawg hahahahahaha
Excellent program. One of your best and most deserving of being shown at least once in every market, and winning awards. You are incredible.
Australians have early voting centres open at least 3 weeks prior to polling day, mail in votes for those who can't physically attend, and sufficient polling booths/staff to ensure polling day is as quick as possible. Counting begins once polls close at 6pm. Counting is a manual process. It is peaceful and efficient. I used to respect America - now I pity America.
“I have two children” that was a beautiful line. You’re a sweetheart John
On the topic of hand counting ballots - the Australian Electoral Commission would beg to differ.
Population size. That is all.
@krazed0451
Your point? You have the same number of people to count each district/electorate/etc, so it scales just fine.
@haiironezumi Yes, but it also drastically increases the risk of mistakes with said scaling.
@krazed0451
It really doesn't. The votes themselves are hand counted in the polling place, and each person being elected has a nominee (called a scrutineer) who can challenge the result of any vote.
The vote totals are then published by the non-partisan entity responsible for overseeing the elections
2016: “We don’t care about your feelings”
2022: “We’ll just say we won, because we feel it”
operative word: YOUR
2016: 'dems lost get over it'
2020: 'boohooo cope cope'
@Michaël Leenen I don't think you understand the format of this joke. You're supposed to use quotes from the same side for both.
2016: "dems lost get over it"
2020: "the election was RIGGED!!! WAH WAH WAH!!!"
Fixed it for you.
I worked in a large airplane factory near Seattle back in the late 1960’s when there was not very much automation to handle papers. My job was to make copies of special work orders and get them sent to groups building one of many airplanes. I was pretty fast and even so it took along time to process each piece of paper.
If people could handle the volume manually machines wouldn’t have been created and purchased. These people just aren’t thinking the process through. Not at all.
Great last shot, it really sent the show off in a climactic fashion.
Great info, great segment, thanks to everyone involved!
Can we just take a second to appreciate how the entire audience mutually agreed that the best tasting teletubby would be Po? I’m not sure why, but immediately i thought the exact same thing, and it is absolutely hilarious to me
John, as a passionate first time American voter, you've done a fine job raising alarm bells with your usual delightful humor. And the election outcome? Well, everybody was really paying attention after all, doing their part for democracy and the outcome is just fine.
I live in Ohio, where we just had to vote down an amendment to our state constitution that would have effectively taken away the right to propose constitutional amendments and get them on the ballot. It also would have raised thw threshold for amendments to pass to 60%, entirely in response to a reproductive rights amendments on the ballot this November. Abortion access has passed in other states by no more than 59%, and polls in Ohio had been showing support for the amendment in the low 50s
I'm a disabled voter, and rely on my assistant for many things. Now that they closed the location near me, the only way to guarantee my ballot gets in on time is for her to deliver it for me. It's hardly a scam to either need help or be willing to provide that assistance to someone who does.
They don't care. Making sure your vote doesn't count is the goal.
We vote early at the country board of elections building. It's easier than our voting location and way more accessible and the only nuts with guns standing around are law enforcement.
Honestly, while probably not in their explicit intention, preventing people like you from voting is a side-effect they welcome happily. Hope it works for you and your assistant.
And it's legal to have someone drop it off for you.
brain damaged veteran here with similar issues. i am also trans, so my name (which has yet to be changed) does not currently "match" my appearance. i no longer live in a deep red state, so i have less concerns about being harassed or attacked , but if I still lived near my family in MS or LA... well.
i'm glad you have your assistant to help.
Honestly such a relief to see Nick Offerman on this show. At least we can assume he isn’t on the complete wrong side of history.
For every sane American out there push on brothers and sisters.
The world is watching
I think this episode should be re-aired with the current legal cases in mind., with the writer/actor strikes you shouldn't expect new content
It’s getting impossible to make fun of Republicans because they’re doing a bang up job of it themselves.
its amazing to re-watch this months later to see how close this country came to falling...VOTE VOTE!!
I'm a military member and absentee voting is the only way I can vote. Sorry I can't do vote "the right way". Solid episode John.
Oh but Republicans sure do love to support our veterans and active service members! Except when they don't.
@jodinsan Which is all the time
@jodinsan YUP
by the looks of it you don't have to worry about all that for much longer. the US won't be the same the day after tomorrow and chances are future voting will take place in some sort of dystopia - if at all
When I voted, the poll worker stood behind the row across from me and kept talking to them for over 10 minutes while they tried to vote. Initially she was giving instructions, normal stuff. Then she just wouldn’t leave.
I love you John Olliver. You are doing righteous work and you are really funny too. Well done, Sirrah, well done.
I cant help but wonder if this division would be so intense if the US had a multi-party system instead of a biparty system
I love how in the mule clip they go off on the one guy who kept his ballot in a safe spot and took time to get it, yet another person dropped theirs off right behind him.
as someone who lives in arizona it’s always weird when our state gets mentioned by name in politics. we have a turning point usa club at my school and kids wear cowboy hats to prom unironically so generally i disregard the political leanings of my state.
As a brazilian who went through the election insanity very recently, I wish you guys good luck, and hope democracy prevails for you guys as it did for us!
estou vendo isso e estou embasbacado hahaah. A gente copiou tudo das EUA das eleições de 2016, maldito seja o Steve Bannon.
Vejo direto esse programa.
How many lies can one tell???
I dream of the day when John Oliver will mention the patriota do caminhão
Taking "I can't believe we lost ☹" to a whole new level.
gods that Aaron Sorkin joke was so goddamn perfect 😂
It caught me off guard but it's dead on
It's truly amazing that human beings have decided to have others rule over them in order to steal their money or life.
Watching this after the election results is kind of nice. Calming
I'd also recommend looking into Moore v. Harper, which is a pretty terrifying piece of legislation that might get passed that could also subvert democracy. There is a good explainer on it by Vaush on KRclip but I dare not post a link due to KRclip rules.
I never would have thought that Adam Savage's joke "I reject your reality and substitute my own" becomes reality for some people.
Dungeon masters
@Nothingtoseehere5678 let's be real, more people know it because of Mythbusters by a landslide.
@Nothingtoseehere5678 Perhaps you'd know it under the title "Ragewar: The Challenges of Excalibrate"?
These replies just unintentionally referenced SAO Abridged and that makes me happy.
I have to ask - those people that took 3 hours to count 50 ballots - how many marks does each ballot have?
I know American voting is very weird where they hand out ballots that have 12 sections, so 50 ballots are actually 600 marks to be counted which is still awfully slow at 18 seconds per mark, but considering counting and re-counting and re-re-counting, 6 seconds on average per mark for 3 hours straight while handling giant newspaper like fiddly folded papers is probably not the worst performance.
how on earth can it take you that long to hand count votes? plenty of countries do it just fine, I'm in Australia where we do, we just employ enough people that most booths are fully counted within 4 hours. voting closes at 6pm, results in by 10pm and our human counters don't just count the votes, we number our ballots in order of preference, so they could all of those too!
I watch this episode to cheer myself up! Love John!
It is a crime to not report voter fraud. I am surprised noone told the proper authorities
My family and I live on a rural ranch. Whichever one of us has the opportunity will take all of our ballots and put them in the box. It's not fraud, it's family and community. How terrible of us.
And it isn’t illegal. So just don’t go by yourself to the drop box. Report any challenges!
It *is* illegal in some places, like where I am. So if you're thinking of doing this check first to see if it is. I would hate to see a bunch of ballots get invalidated and thrown out just because someone was trying to be helpful.
@RatherTiredOfTheMess I feel your name!
Can we talk about how often they're using "votes outside the law/illegal votes" in exchange for "votes against trump" in public speeches and debates without a shred of doubt on their faces? It's a little concerning.
I LOVE that they got Nick Offerman for this, because he's a treasure as Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation to the Trumpists, so you know it stings on another level when he reads them to filth.
12:41 “gloves during a pandemic” could also be followed with “in November, because it’s cold”. There was snow on the ground in parts of Minnesota in October
I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing Nick Offerman without the moustache. Choosing him to tell people to vote is hilarious when you're so used to seeing him as Ron
The only way to fix the system is to either have everyone do a write in candidate or... everyone just unregister to vote.
Republicans: "We want strong, tough, men leading America"
Also Republicans: "If our big special baby boy doesn't win, then our feelings will be so hurt we'll throw the biggest, whiniest temper tantrum you have ever seen!"
brilliant writers on staff (best give credit where it is due).
Watching Doug Ducey's micro-expressions to that phone call was a TREAT! You could practically see the "Nope, not dealling with that right now." And proceeding "what a d!ck" little head tilt. 😂

We count ballots by hand in Canada just fine for our Federal Elections. I still think there's a certain level of simplicity and trustworthiness when ballots are counted by hand.
